We support all Survivors of sexual assault and violence. We do not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.

There are an estimated 2 million female victims of rape in California and 5.6 million women in the state have been victims of sexual violence other than rape. We work to support and empower all women. (CALCASA)

It is estimated that there are 3 million male survivors of sexual violence other than rape in California, and researchers have found that, in general, at least 1 in 6 men have experienced sexual abuse or assault, whether in childhood or as adults. (NSVRC)

Lesbian, gay and bisexual people experience sexual violence at similar or higher rates than straight people.

It is estimated that nearly one in ten LGBTQ survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) has experienced sexual assault from those partners. (HRC, CDC)

Sexual abuse of an elderly person occurs when a perpetrator engages in any kind of sexual contact without the person’s consent. Some victims of sexual abuse are unable to give consent due to health conditions, such as dementia or Alzheimer’s. (RAINN)

SENIOR CITIZENS

One in 9 girls and 1 in 53 boys under the age of 18 experience sexual abuse or assault at the hands of an adult. Child Protective Services agencies substantiated, or found strong evidence to indicate that, 57,329 children were victims of sexual abuse in just one year. (RAINN)
