Murdered & Missing Indigenous Women

As part of our SAAM Webinar Series: Intersectional Conversations, we will be discussing unique issues affecting sexual assault survivors with a panel of community partners.

Learn about the current state of Murdered & Missing Indigenous Women (MMIW) and the efforts being made to bring attention to and stop the violence against indigenous populations, with particular focus on the Inland Empire.

Speaker Natalie from MMIWUSA will be teaching us about Missing and Murdered Indigenous People, the problems that contribute to it, and how it can be fixed on a community scale level. She has four years experience participating in and organizing searches for missing indigenous people, six years experience with data analytics on the MMIP issue, and six years experience documenting contributing factors to cases and common experiences for families in these cases through interviews with family.
